Local listings service

Local listings service
Our main goal is to help our clients to be found by potential customers by means of inbound marketing, which will help them gain more leads and traffic to their website.
One channel of inbound marketing, where many of the potential customers of your business may be found, is, of course, search engines – and Google in particular. We all know that in order to appear high on the organic search results, the website must be optimized for search engines (a process widely known as ‘SEO’ – search engine optimization). However, within the huge world of SEO, there exists another sub-world that works a little differently than traditional SEO – and that is local SEO, or ‘local search’. This sub-world has search results that look a little different than the ones you know and also operate a little differently, because they are influenced by other factors. One of these factors is called ‘local listings’ or ‘citations’ and that is exactly what we offer in our brand new service – Local Business Listing Service.

What is local SEO and why should I bother with it?

Before we delve deep into the topic of local listings and how to get them, let’s first try to understand what local SEO is. If you have ever conducted a search which included a geographic term, you have probably encountered this type of search results:
local search results

Notice that the search results in this image are organized in a slightly different array than usual: the first search result is local, it is followed by 2 organic results, which are then followed by 6 local results (the rest of the following results will be the usual organic results). That is, the website that appears as the third organic search result is technically the tenth search result – do you think that anyone will click on it? 🙂

This example shows us that for certain businesses, appearing in the first organic results is worthless (!); and that some local SEO needs to be done in order for the business to survive.

The local search results are taken from Google+ Local and the businesses they represent appear in order of relevance which is determined by many factors.

We will not elaborate here on the parameters that affect the ranking of a website in the local results. For this purpose, we have created a detailed guide which will be published on our blog during the next few days. In addition, those of you who want to learn more about this topic can check out David Mihm’s yearly survey, which addresses the factors affecting local search results.

However, we will now mention the topic for which we have gathered here – local listings.

Local listings = the links of local SEO

Local citations, or local listings, are basically mentions of a business on a web page. These mentions are supposed to include the business’s ‘ID’: its name, its address and its phone number (or just 2 of these 3). If we make an analogy to traditional SEO, we can say that in the same way that links are a type of recommendations that affect the website’s relevance, the recommendations in the local SEO world are the local listings.

It makes sense when you think about it – in contrast to a recommendation about a content page which one must link to the page itself (in traditional SEO), in the case of recommending a business, it is enough to mention a detail that will testify that I mean a specific business (like its name and address).

As a part of our new service, we will add the details of your business in high-quality local directories in the country where the business operates. Such details include:

  • Business name.
  • Full address: street, city, zip code, country and state.
  • Phone number.
  • Category and related  tags.
  • Website URL.
  • Business owner details: full name and email.

You are welcome to give it a peek and order our local listing service now.

Quality matters – big-time!

Naturally, we did not invent the wheel here – anyone can go on Google, search for a “local directories list” and add their business for free to the numerous directories that will pop up. However, with our service we save you the precious time that takes to perform the following actions:

  • Searching for high-quality directories – Most of the lists you will find will include inactive websites, spam websites, directories which can’t add any more websites, paid directories, and so on. We work only with the highest quality directories, all of which have been thoroughly checked by us. Some of them can even be viewed on our local directories list, which includes over 20 high-quality directories and direct links to add your website on them.
  • Searching for directories in your country – most of the directories that appear on searches only include US-based directories (ones on which you have to choose a state as part of your location). Therefore, if your business is registered in another country, you will have to start searching for directories in the same country so that your citations will be effective. Our new service will include the following countries: USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Israel. More countries will be added later on.
  • Checking if the business is already registered – before you register your business on a directory, it is very important to check whether your business already exists on that directory. Checking this is not a lengthy process, however, when you want to add your website to 20 directories, it could take you a long time.

Ultimately, all these actions amount to a lot of time that you can spend instead on things that are more important for your website. Let our experienced  team save you this time and do the work for you – click here to order our local listings service.
